If you are currently on the monthly plan, you have the option to upgrade to the yearly plan. You need to do the following steps:
- Cancel your current subscription. Go to your account and then subscriptions.
- Remain signed in before you do the next step. Why? You want your new Pro Yearly membership to be linked to your current user account to retain your viewing history.
- Then go to the cart to checkout and complete the sign up process.
Bam, that’s it. You just added another full 12 months of Know the Code to your account. You will be charged in full for the entire year starting after your trial period.
Why did you have to sign up for a separate subscription?
When you sign up, all payment processing is handled by either PayPal or Stripe. One of those payment processors is managing the renewal process.
For example, you first signed up for a monthly membership. Let’s say you used Stripe. In Stripe, it creates a subscription and profile. Each month, it charges your credit card for the month. It continues until you pause or cancel it.
Therefore, creating a new subscription changes the renewal date. When you sign up for a year, the next renewal period is 365 days later.
Our membership system does not have the means to change the payment processor’s subscription or profile. Rather, we can only pause, resume, and cancel it, which you do through your account.
