In order to do this hands-on, you will need to complete the Parts 1-3 of this series:
When is it coming?
I’m putting this lab on hold for now. Why?
At the moment, Gutenberg does not have a plan for meta boxes. That means meta boxes as we know them today could disappear or be dramatically changed. Gutenberg is coming out soon.
Therefore, I’ve decided to wait on this lab and more meta box labs. Once the core team figures out a path forward, I’ll circle back to this lab and make it work within the new WordPress 5.0 release.
Whoever says that coding is hard, just smack them.
Total Lab Runtime:
The bulk of the heavy lifting for working with meta boxes can be generated using a reusable module. In this hands-on coding lab, you will convert the meta box plugin you built in the Basics lab, making it configurable and reusable. Build it once. Then reuse it. For each custom meta box, build a configuration and view file. That's it.
